Today we recorded and are releasing the 100th Episode of the TFT Podcast, which has altered its mission and research question within the last six months significantly, to become Overthinking It’s venue for subjecting popular music to a level of scrutiny it probably doesn’t deserve.
In a spirit of nostalgia (and self-indulgence) in keeping with the TFT Podcast’s themes and preoccupations, here are some of the most memorable episodes. Some are on this list because they are noteworthy for being bad (Episode 6: Experimental Noise Collective), but most others are on this list because they introduced a concept that stuck with us, focus on a fun episode of a given show, or feature one of our recurring guests (Jordan Stokes, Tim Swann, or Cognac).
