    Its interesting to imagine why “the bear and the maiden fair” wouldn’t work in the show. I more or less agree that it wouldn’t fit, but it’s an important building block for a bunch of scenes/stories in the books. (a literary leitmotif? is that a thing?)Presumably those scenes will still be in the show, but without the music? I wonder if that represents the writers intention to de-emphasize certain themes or story arcs.

    Obviously these questions demand an analysis of what exactly “The Bear and the Maiden Fair” represents in the books. Thankfully, there’s a wiki for that:
