Matt’s analysis of that one line is masterful. But seriously, for fans of the song, I highly recommend this book: “The Holy or the Broken: Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, and the Unlikely Ascent of “Hallelujah.” How did this song become so popular? Why is it used in so many pop culture references when the lyrics have nothing to do with what is being referenced? Really interesting read.

That sounds awesome! And since I have that song stuck in my head now (thanks Shrek!) I will probably have to read this!

And didn’t Mike Meyers use an alias for the soundtrack and change his voice for another recording? Because I think the soundtrack lists a dude named “Rufus Waynesworld” as the singer.
