Open Thread for January 14, 2011

Happy 14th of the 1st in the 2011th, Overthinkers! This Open Thread is available in white, wheat, whole grain or Italian herb.

First, in happy news, Michael Douglas beat cancer like it was a Yakuza flunky in a mediocre 80s crime thriller. Yes, I went from celebrating his survival to making fun of him in Black Rain in a single sentence. All part of life’s rich tapestry.

The performers at this year’s Grammys have been announced. Among the acts: Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, Eminem, Katy Perry, Cee Lo Green and Miranda Lambert. They’re all nominated for Grammys as well, so they’ll have to shower after their sets or it’ll be awkward.

A few new movies are opening this weekend, but let’s not talk about them. Especially not about The Green Hornet. This movie’s looked like it was finished for a year now, and it’s only just now being released. In 3-D. Don’t see it. Or see it; I don’t care. I’m not the boss of you.

Will Michael Douglas and Cee-Lo Green don masks and fight crime in their fair city? Or is there something we missed? Sound off in the comments, for this is your … Open Thread.
