    DeanMoriarty Well Actually

I like HIMYM just fine. But I think the most interesting part of the show is that the longer it goes, the less the title and framing device work. Those kids have been on the couch for 9 years, listening to their father go into detail, a lot of detail, about his bachelor life. Soon we’ll get to watch as the writers try to bring it all back around with something, hopefully, resembling coherence. Or maybe they won’t even try.

Anyways, inspired by the news of the spin off, my friends and I took to twitter and started pitching implausible, weird, and interesting conclusions to the show. I thought you guys might enjoy getting in on the fun.

    Three ideas so far:
Ted’s been diagnosed with a slow, yet terminal disease and is telling his children a story filled with clues to finding some hidden treasure. (Barney’s, maybe?) [that one was mine].

Humanity is destroyed at the end of the present (2005-2014) timeline and the future is a simulation. [unfortunately, because twitter, my friend didn’t flesh out the details on this one]

Right before he tells the kids how he met their mother, they stand up and walk out the door. Cut to credits.

What’s your fantasy ending for this show?

Funny you should say that as it’s similar to the structure of The Goodwin Games which was from the creators of HIMYM.
