I was reading Pete’s article about politicians and Conan’s Riddle of Steel, and came across his description of how the 2011 cluster-eff over the debt ceiling went wrong: “They screwed up the games.”
It joins a few of my favorite other sayings from Pete, and I hereby coin the term Fenzelisms to describe them:
- “Dan Harmon is in the ravioli.”
- “Superiority is no substitute for victory.”
- …and now… “They screwed up the games.”, perhaps better as an injunction: “Don’t screw up the games.”
I invite you to catalog your most favorite Fenzelisms here, and maybe we can do some work defining them in less allusive language.
