The site will randomly spit me back to the homepage for no reason. I’ve tried to find the exact steps to duplicate this bug, but it seems to be pretty random. The only common thing seems to be that I’ll be sent back to the homepage before the page I’m browsing to finishes loading.

Tested on two computers. Chrome Beta 17 and Firefox 9.0.1

I don’t know if this counts as a bug but about 90% of the time I go onto http://www.overthinkingit.com since the updated format, my computer (not my browser) crashes. I’ve tried IE9, Firefox 9.0.1, Google Chrome and even Safari.

    I would appreciate any suggestions.

One suggestion and one bug. I just noticed that the comments show reply posts indented somewhat, the standard visual cue to show that one post is a reply to another. But on the forum there’s no indented replies and no way to reply to a specific post without mentioning it in the text. Could we get the forums to work similar to the comments?

The bug is that most of the time when I try to reply or post on the forums using Firefox, it gives me the message “You must be logged in to post” even when it shows me logged in already. It works fine when I use IE. For some reason right now it’s working in Firefox, so it’s not consistent.

    Thanks!

I’ve had a couple lot of ‘Error establishing a database connection’ screens when trying to navigate the site, particularly the forums andwhen trying to submit this comment.
Like most of these problems it seems to strike at random.

    Gab

I use Chrome. Am I the only one having trouble with the new text box on the forums? I have to scroll far over to the right within the text box itself to see the “submit” button. :(

Most of these things should be addressed now, with a combination of redesign, code refactoring, and implementing a CDN. Post here if any of these bugs has resurfaced.

Oh, and allowing threaded replies is not a feature of bbPress, the WordPress-based forum software we are using. There is a plugin that allows it, but I want to address some of the more pressing usability issues before getting into it.
