Overthinking Eurovision 2013: Hungary

This singer didn’t even want to enter Eurovision. AND YET, here he is. Pity this poor hipster who will be eliminated in the Semifinals.

This singer didn’t even want to enter Eurovision. AND YET, here he is. This song is highly unlikely to make it to the finals, so watch our 2 minutes of snark and hope that Hungary fields a more credible competitor for next year.

OMG When I saw the thumbnail on facebook, I thought the bearded guy was Sheely making an appearance in hipster costume (this is not a joke)

Sheely is not wearing a hipster costume. Those are his actual clothes.

        HAHAHAHAHA

(and, of course, I couldn’t possibly not use this as a chance to annoy you, any TFT eps being recorded any time soon? About anything? Really, anything at all? About Harvey’s Kinky Boots, or Community’s Dan Harmonless season, or this latest season of Girls, or the Maasai, or how TFT is like an abusive boyfriend that I keep waiting for, hoping this time he’ll come back, and make frequent appearances in my life once again, but alas, he never will? Seriously guys, ANYTHING. How about an entire ep where you discuss the medium through with the podcast is delivered (alienating and confounding the listeners is a stylistic choice, Omar Dies, Britta is weird, Rachel is crazy, Glee sucks…))

        God, I miss that podcast.

          It misses you too. :)

We’re planning for the next incarnation of whatever TFT becomes. I feel like we’ve answered our research question.

Dunno, I thought the song was adorable when I found out what the title means. Then again, that was without seeing the performance or knowing the rest of the lyrics, so… I guess the more space for projection the better for this guy’s chances?

You have to know that in Hungary there was a national contest to decide whom to be sent. The jury never wanted this guy to succeed – it was the audience all the times who voted him further, and finally sent him to Malmö!!
This is a song with beautiful and interesting lyrics. Describing an imaginary girl, it is full of pictures of nature. I think the meaning is: if you are single, in unity with nature you can find similar experience as in unity with a loved one.
Not all people demand an overwhelming load of stimuli. I like that the song is that relaxing. You don’t need to jump to the next interesting thing so fast – take your time :)

Oh,you did not understand the world around you.The people are tired of the consumer society and enough with stupid celebs and synthetic superstars. The youths and many others wishes a new world.Hungarians just the first who declared to have had enough and could be the European voters will agree whit us.We voted against the boring and loathsome Lords of pop music. I think byAlex is a symbol of the civil resistance and wish of changing the manipulative world culture. May you will surprise today night.Go ahead byAlex, you are the new David against the Goliath’s!

Hungary actually doesn’t give a fuck about the lousy Eurovision 2013 contest. Two years ago we have sent a blond girl with a real festival song but she reached only the 24th place.. I think the country then realised we will never have a chance to conquer the top. Why? After the Soviet Union broke up, and after Yugoslavia broke up the Eurovision membrs nearly doubled. They are screwing eachother’s mother in the ass for the votes even if the song is just the typical slavish boring shit we all have met while traveling to these countries. (Dima Bilan OMG , Verka Serduchka OMG and the Azeri copycats with the lame shit OMG, etc-etc)
Also there’s a key factor in sending ByeAlex to the contest: hungarian voters wanted to send an anti-Star to make fun of the hungarian preliminary contest what we believe is like the Eurovision: full of gitsch with NO artistic value.
What i dont understand: Why do we have to EVEN take part in this lame competition.. Poland and Slovakia could say THANKS but NO THX! Why couldn’t we?
