1. Bud has a father, Carl. Budd, along with Bill as his brother, did not have a father growing up. Esteban Vihaio, one could presume, would have been a father figure to Budd at some point as he was with Bill.

2. Timeline. Wall Street is set in 1985-1986. By the time Bud goes to trial, is sentenced, goes to and is released from prison, we’re looking at at least 3, if not 4 or 5 years, passing (judging by the terms served by many of the insider trading scandal figures). So Bud gets out, we’ll say 1990. Now, Kill Bill couldn’t take place later than 2003, unless everyone is embracing ironic hipsterdom with their cell phones and vehicles, etc. Kiddo was in a 4 year coma, so we’re at 1999. And she was preggers wen she took a bullet in the head, so let’s say she was on that mission where she ran into Karen Kim sometime in early 99 or late 98. Budd was also a member of the DVAs, which would have required immense amounts of training. Plus, the DVAs had a reputation of being the world’s deadliest team of assassins, meaning Budd must’ve had several jobs under his belt, so (if we’re generous) we could say that Budd must’ve started his training sometime before 1994. Same could be said for Elle/Darien. Not a problem in and of itself, I guess, but you’d think that a guy who went away for insider trading might have some people watching his activity after getting out of jail.

Also, it’s intimated that Budd moves into his trailer after the Massacre at Two Pines, well after he’d joined the DVAs.

I could go on. A more interesting possibility, if we were to accept the Bud = Budd concept, is this: Earl McGraw (the Texas Ranger who shows up on the scene at Two Pines) appears both in Kill Bill as well as From Dusk Til Dawn, in which Tarantino and George Clooney play characters named… Richie and Seth Gecko! If Bud = Budd, does Gecko = Gekko?
