Great piece!

I find vast amounts of hilarity and irony in that the filmmakers just arbitrarily named it “Quantum of Solace” in order to use the cool title and, to tie said title in, named the terrorist organization “QUANTUM”- but they freely admit they have no idea wtf “QUANTUM” stands for. That’s a push for profit and away from art if I’ve ever seen one. “This sounds cool, we’ll fix it later.” Sigh. I haven’t seen it yet, but I know I will soon.

Well done, Perich. You definitely trumped my “Sliver of Pie” notion where James Bond has to compete as an Iron Chef to untangle a plot to poison key government leaders. Or “Ray of Sunshine” where he has to go undercover as a kindergarten cop and hilarity ensues.

“One Cent of Change:” Bond is betrayed by a CIA agent. While hunting him down to get his revenge, Bond learns that the agent was a mere pawn in the Bush administration’s sinister plans curtail civil liberties, spy on US citizens, and send innocent people to Guantanamo Bay. A shoot out ensues on the steps of the US Capitol.
