Great piece!

I find vast amounts of hilarity and irony in that the filmmakers just arbitrarily named it "Quantum of Solace" in order to use the cool title and, to tie said title in, named the terrorist organization "QUANTUM"- but they freely admit they have no idea wtf "QUANTUM" stands for. That's a push for profit and away from art if I've ever seen one. "This sounds cool, we'll fix it later." Sigh. I haven't seen it yet, but I know I will soon.

“The Touch of Evil”: Mexico's chief narcotics officer, Mike Vargas, is in a border town on a quick honeymoon with his U.S. wife. When a car bomb kills a rich U.S. developer, Vargas embroils himself in the investigation, going up against corrupt local sheriff Hank Quinlan.

Excellent work, although you left completely unresolved the question of the dual wave/particle nature of solace.

Well done, Perich. You definitely trumped my "Sliver of Pie" notion where James Bond has to compete as an Iron Chef to untangle a plot to poison key government leaders. Or "Ray of Sunshine" where he has to go undercover as a kindergarten cop and hilarity ensues.

Now, all I can do is wait for the reboot starring Nick Jonas, in, "An Iota of Irony"

You made me grin foolishly. Stop that.

"One Cent of Change:" Bond is betrayed by a CIA agent. While hunting him down to get his revenge, Bond learns that the agent was a mere pawn in the Bush administration's sinister plans curtail civil liberties, spy on US citizens, and send innocent people to Guantanamo Bay. A shoot out ensues on the steps of the US Capitol. After Bond takes care of the first round of gunmen, he notices at his feet two small objects: a penny and a Barack Obama for President campaign button. Bond stoops down, picks them up, and puts them in his pocket before reloading his gun...

"The Dollop of Doldrums": James Bond, tiring of his lonely life of globe-hopping espionage, buys an X-Box 360. His years of training make him an unstoppable force at Gears of War 2. However, there is one player he meets online who always defeats him. When he puts on his X-Box Live headset, he is surprised to discover she is a girl. They start fighting team deathmatches together, always winning, moving up the leaderboard. Finally, Bond decides he must meet her. She turns out to be an overweight teenager with a deep love of Panic At the Disco. On his solitary way home, Bond buys a copy of Gran Turismo.
