Aja, Marvin the paraniod Android (he's not really paranoid, jut in case you think so, that is just an insult to him) should either share first or be a close second (after all, he dies).

Marvin the Paranoid Android from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (books not the movie) would be at the top of my list.

"Pardon me for breathing, which I never do any way so I don't know why I bother to say it, oh God, I'm so depressed."
"My capacity for happiness, you could fit it into a matchbox without taking out the matches first."
"Why stop now just when I'm hating it?"
"I'm not getting you down at all, am I?"

Hate to get on the wagon late, but whichever one of you folks is internet-savvy needs to fix the CSS on your images. I can't deal with margins like these.

Seriously.

Also, it's a different sort of character, but I'd give major props to Dennis Leary in _Demolition Man_.

Stokes definitely means Lt. Harris. Commandant Lassard was pretty much high all the time. His best friend was a goldfish.

Lt. Harris was always yelling, even during routine conversations, unless he was intensely whispering in order to draw your ear closer -- so he could start yelling even louder.

But the reference was so inspired, I didn't want to mess with it.

Also, Matt, it's pretty clear Grumpy Bear is the mechanic because blue-furred working class Care Bears are bitter.

And this reminds me, I've had a Care Bears post in my craw for a while . . . a rant I used to trot out at parties that maybe needs to be put out on the Web.

Wikipedia says that Grumpy Bear is now the resident inventor/mechanic for the rest of the Care Bears. Maybe that's why he's so grumpy - he's busy fixing other bears' Tivos.

As a chronically depressed person I've always felt a strong kinship to Grumpy Bear and Eeyore. But as someone whose depression frequently manifests itself as extreme irritability and downright bitchiness I've also always connected with Lucy from Peanuts.

It's altogether possible. It's been a while since I saw that movie... my main point, though, is that the world of Police Academy is intolerably filled with <strike>Gutenberg</strike> joy.
