He is an absolutely class guy however he does betray his fans a bit eg.

Troy (2004)
Role: Oddysseus
Betrayal: He hasn't made a sequel yet!

Outlaw (2007)
Role: Bryant (I can't remember his first name) an ex-soldier.
Betrayal: He dies... I mean WTF!!?!?! He doesn't even take that many people down with him. Also he randomly strings that guy up and shoots him in the knee? Not to mention sparing Furlong, he basically sentenced poor Bob Hoskins to death.

Equilibrium (2002)
Role: Errol Partridge
Betrayal: See above

Sure he is a sly devil but we must remember how nice he was in Sharpe...
appart from stealing his friend's girl.
Sharpe's Waterloo
Role: Richard Sharpe (I mean come on, if you don't know who he is then just...)
Betrayal: Steals Frederikson's girl, sure I'll admit that she didn't relly like the guy but he needed omeone didn't he!
And finally

Goldeneye (1995)
Role: Alec Trevelyan
Betrayal: His RP accent was hilarious... but seriously did he need to die?

In conclusion I would say that all films that Sean Bean dies in are in fact betrayals so we should all just sit down and watch Sharpe.

Okay, I'm coming to this party nine months late, but...

You know who's cast as Lady Macbeth in Come Like Shadows? Tilda Swinton! There's ANOTHER person who keeps being typecast as the cold bitchy betrayer.

That's it. The next movie I make is going to be a cute romantic comedy with Sean Bean and Tilda Swinton as the leads.

And no murder.

Remember these are just parts in films that Sean Bean was cast in....in real life, there isn't any evidence that he has "betrayed" anyone - he's a decent father and has kept the same best friends for over 20 years.

Now about this issue of "betrayal" - granted in the films "Island" and "Lorna Doone" he played villians...but in the rest of the films you alleged he is a "betrayer" he didn't do anything wrong. In "Chatterly" he clearly didn't "seduce" the wife - she practically threw herself at him, plus her husband was pretty rotten to the core - in "Anna Karenina" it was also a MUTUAL romance not a seduction - Vronsky doesn't drive to suicide Anna - since she was already quite high strung from the very beginning of the film - remember Anna Karenina was addicted to opium/laudunum, which is what drove her over the edge, plus her endless self-pity. He plays lots of villians in movies, but in real life he's a pretty decent person. But I enjoyed reading your posts and they were pretty entertaining.

Ronin (1998)
Role: Spence
Betrayal: Falsifies his resume. Would be less of a big deal if the position he was applying for wasn't "soldier of fortune."

Anna Karenina (1997)
Role: Vronsky
Betrayal: Seducing/impregnating/driving to suicide the married sister of his friend.

Lady Chatterley (1993)
Role: Mellors
Betrayal: Seducing his boss' sexually frustrated wife.

A Woman's Guide to Adultery (1993)
Role: Paul
Betrayal: Seducing the... you know what, I'm not even going to finish this one.

Lorna Doone (1990)
Role: Carver Doone
Betrayal: Treason. Fucking treason.
